I am on chapter 9 page 13 of my tutorials. This chapter covers only one photo using differnt elements of photoshop. It covers the advanced things you can do with different layers in a photo in photoshop.
While taking these photos the sun was not as bright as I expected. So I had to set the shutter speed to somewhere between 1/250 and 1/400. Some shots I decided to try a depth of field shot with the reflection. The hardest part about shooting reflections was that I only really had my phone to get certain angles of different subjects. The windows around campus only allowed my one true subject with one true angle. I used the x5 camera which gave me a better quality because it was the best camera used. My phone was the main subject because it was easy for me to find reflections.
I will be shooting reflections today. Some objects I will use are sunglasses, phones, windows, and anything that gives off a reflection.
Most of the time I will be near the classrooms and the gym because they have windows that give off reflections. The weather today is very bright and hot. The shutterspeed will need to be really high to compensate for the brightness. I will be out for about 20 minutes because this is my first time shooting photos for reflections. ReflectionAn image of an object seen through another object. Reflections can be caused by mirrors, windows, or any other shiney object. Project Reflection: Personal enjoyment level of this project = 8 Why? This one brought a new element in photography because I had to work with someone and It was fun with 2 brains coming up with more creative things. Project objective/requirements: Successful?: (yes). Why? We were able to come up with creative ways to shoot photos of each other. Communication (statement): It was easy to take photos of each other. easy to identify subject(s)? (yes) Why? The only subject that we took of was each other. Personal difficulty level for this project: 6 Why? The hardest part was looking for more creative places we could shoot in. Easy tasks, areas I excelled in: Working with the tripod was really easy for me. Difficult tasks, areas I struggled with: Finding good settings for some portraits. Strongest part of the design: The dramatic aspect of the photo Weakest part of the design: Some of the photos were over exposed Things I could improve for the future: Change up the settings so it can be a clear photo. Did project’s use of technology challenge you (no). Why? I mainly worked with the adjustments side of photoshop. I will be taking portrait photos. I will be bringing the tripod for a steadier photo.
It will take me 30 minutes to take the photos I want because I can use different areas and settings. I will be around campus messing with different kinds of lighting. This is practice for a new assignment in portrait photography. In this session the sun was brighter than I had anticipated. So I had to kick the shutter speed up to the thousands just to take a darker photo. The fog had settled into the mountains so I took advantage of that and made it more dramatic. I learned that depending on the weather you can really get good results if you aim for a landscape photo.
I want to shoot some landscape photos because it is a foggy day today and I think I can get some cool effects with the pictures I take today.
I will be along the gym to take pictures of the background of the field in the distance. I will take about 20 minutes to take photos then the rest of the time will be spent on editing and choosing the ones I like. I want to do this because this is the first time I've dealt with fog and I think it will be a really good time to take a landscape photo. |
