I had to create a t-shirt for WASC and Gear Up. It was hard for me because I am a photographer that had to make a t-shirt and I was competing against graphic designers. I learned that you have to know what your priorities are. Sometimes you have to drop everything to complete something that needs more attention.

Each photo here is from a different shoot. Each shoot I feel I have gotten better with choosing subjects and editing them in photoshop. Each day brought different weather so I had to change the shutter speed do compensate for that day. I also changed up the ISO in different photos to see if I could get different subjects. Overall I am getting used to shooting depth of field photos.
I would like to shoot more depth of field photos. I want to try and take 3 compositions from the same vantage point with different subjects in focus.
Most of my time will be spent in the more natural areas because there are plenty of places where I can take 3 subjects. For this session I would like to spend 20 minutes taking photos because it is a block day and I have a lot of time to take photos. Last session I only took 1 photo for each composition. This time I would like to take more photos for the same subject and really show each depth in the photo. Hopefully I can find things that have more than 3 interesting subjects to take a photo of. 1. I like that my t-shirt is creative. I used more diagonal lines rather than just everything straight and proper because that wouldn't catch anyone's eye. 2. If I had to change a few things I would have tried to fix the claw marks because they were from a different site. I would have tried and created my own. 3. What I learned about quick deadlines is it's tough when a customer wants something fairly quickly and you have to invest a lot of time into what the person needs. 4. What I like about photoshop is that I'm very familiar with the tools and I am pretty good in working with layers. The only problem with it is that when making this I can't zoom in all the way otherwise it would look pixelated. Cabotage: When you sabotage someone in Cabo, Mexico
Umbrage: Something that wasn't expected and caught off guard. So far in tutorials I've made it to chapter 8. The chapter is mostly about messing with layers and learning more advanced things that you can do in photoshop. The first photo is of a soccer field but the layers in the photo show that people are playing rugby there. In the project so far I've been getting really good images showing depth of field. The one of a flower above is in my opinion the best one I have taken so far. The settings have come in a specific way and I've been using photoshop to edit the photos more to show more of a contrast. I can't wait to get out and shoot more depth of field.
This photo shows a contrast in the seasons with summer and winter being divided by a mountain range. It is a combination of two realities being separated by what appears to be a foot of dirt. Johansson may have accomplished this with many photos to fit in the shape of the mountains that was created in the photo. We are lead by the line that runs through the middle of the photo. There are different geometric and organic shapes. The color in the summer setting is more warm and vibrant than the cooler white in the winter setting. The two subjects are in the left and right most part of the paragraph. The contrast between the winter and summer time in this photo creates a very powerful photo and a interesting illusion.
When I first went out to take silhouette photos, the settings were all off and my photos were either normal or too dark. I messed with the settings and eventually got some good settings and started taking better photos. This photo came off of mostly luck as I saw birds floating across the sky and I thought this would make a good photo. I was only able to take one but I thought this was a really good one. When editing, I changed the photo to black and white and made the photo more landscape. This was the best photo I took because of the rare scenario that occurred when I took this. The birds create shape in the photo and the black and white type of picture make this photo a cooler color. There is also some organic shape in the range of trees and the branching tree in the foreground.
This photo shows a contradiction with the setting and the subject. The penguins would be the subject, and the tropical mountains would be the setting. This is clearly not the penguins' natural habitat so it makes the photo more interesting to look at. Frans Lanting is a nature photographer and he is currently doing a study on the Emperor Family of penguins. He uses the rule of thirds by making the horizon Between the mountains and the large group of penguins. The area looks very tropical and it seems humid thanks to the fog in the background. This photo holds meaning with the problems of global warming and its effect on the arctic animals like penguins.
Robert de Niro has been a great actor in some of the biggest movies through the years. This photo is a basic representation of what he has gone through in his acting career. Over his shoulder we see a projector showing a holographic frame of a movie. This hologram has a setting of a forest with the light shining down with the added light of the projector. In the top right corner there is some equipment that has to do with filmmaking. The other side of the background creates a nice contrast between the two sides. de Niro's expression seems like he is showing the audience what he his and what he is made of. This photo is very powerful in showing Robert de Niro's work as an actor. Steve McCurry uses these portrait photos to show different cultures to the rest of the world. Through his portraits, he creates this emotion as you see how some other countries lives and you compare to how you live. All of his photos are designed to convey a message to those who view it.
This picture is very powerful because it creates drama through the photo. The man seems like he's down on his luck as he has a long road ahead of him with his guitar. The sunset creates a more dramatic tone as it helps highlights the road ahead of him. I like how it doesn't lead to a city, but to a range of mountains. This makes it look like a more independent photo as you would typically go to the city to be a famous musician. This means that the musician wants to go his own way away from the records that will disagree with his style of music. This photo highlights the struggle of a musician to make his music against the mainstream. Tj Scott has worked with television series such as Gotham and Hemlock Grove. This photo doesn't relate to any of the shows he has worked on. As well as photography, he has directed both shows and worked with many others. He is a big influence to the TV network as he comes up with innovative shows that have done well.
